Just before the start of WW1, a model known as Miss Fernande in Europe had a grasp on troops on both sides of the war. Miss Fernande is potentially the first modern example of a pin-up girl that we would be familiar with. She wasn’t afraid to show her cleavage and full frontal nudity that many considered quite taboo.
